Over the past several months we’ve been working with the Univeristy of Montana’s DroneFire team to develop a platform they could use for multiple research tasks. One of these tasks includes collecting data over burned timber areas. This data will be used to better understand how a forest fire moves as well as what environmental variables can affect how a forest fire burns through an area.
DroneFire has added the Skyefish M4 to their arsenal to gather this data. Last week we had the privilege of training their staff on how to use the M4 while collecting usable data at Lubrecht Experimental Forest. Lubrecht Experimental Forest is the largest experimental forest in the United States and one of the largest in the world.
